3. Purpose of the Program: you can find out detailed information about the culture of countries around the world- details from greetings to school hours
4. Ease of Use: good - many countries don't have a lot of details yet
5. Your reaction to the program: I really thought this would be appropriate for my class. I have many students from other countries, and I would love to share some things about them with the class.

4. Ease of Use: excellent- this was very easy to navigate
5. Your reaction to the program: I would love to use this in my classroom. The only thing holding me back is the lack of microphone access in the building.



Assignment #2 - 11-21


1. Name of the Program: Digital Vaults
2. URL of program: http://www.digitalvaults.org
3. Purpose of the Program: A website where historical documents, pictures and other items are kept, you can then use these in various ways to teach the content.
4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: This was quite interesting, it didn't take me too long to figure out how to navigate. Much of the content I found was a little above my students reading ability, but we could do this together to explore a historical topic.

3. Purpose of the Program: Making quizzes into more of in interesting game format. Much more engaging for students and you can put it in your wiki or blog
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: It was very easy to create a new quiz, the games took me a little longer to figure out, but I am sure my students wouldn't have any trouble. I like that it created several different games with the same information.

Assignment #3 - 22 - 32


1. Name of the Program: Mixbook
2. URL of program: http://www.mixbook.com/edu
3. Purpose of the Program: This is an online scrapbooking and digital storytelling site. It allows you to create pieces that can be printed in books for a price, but the program itself is free.
4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: It would take a little more playing around, but I like the idea that we could create class books and have them printed to add to the class library. The downside it collaborators need email addresses to be added to edit.

1. Name of the Program: My Story Maker
2. URL of program: http://carnegielibrary.org/kids/mystorymaker/
3. Purpose of the Program: Students create their own story online with the help of tools and props from the program. Their only limit to writing the story is their own imagination.
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: I loved this. I think it would be especially helpful for my ELL students, because when you create action in the story, the program does the writing for you.


Assignment #4 - 33-43


1. Name of the Program: World Digital Library

3. Purpose of the Program: Online digital library, with descriptions of pictures and events, set up like a living timeline broken into sections of the world where events happened.
4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: I think this may be very helpful for high school history. It again looks a little complicated for my students, unless thier was a very specific topic I could find a few pictures on.

4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: This was a little confusing to get started on, but they have some nice tutorial videos. I don't know how I would ust this in my classroom.

Assignment #5 - 44-54

3. Purpose of the Program: Students can do editing to digital documents
4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: I like that you can set up an educator account, and then add your students so they have their own accounts without them having to have their own email account. They could use this for many different digital ideas.

3. Purpose of the Program: Create online timelines, you can collaborate with others on a timeline as well.
4. Ease of Use: poor - not too hard to figure out, but again users have to have a email address
5. Your reaction to the program: These timelines are very visually appealing, and the timelines aren't too hard to create. It may be fun to create one to share with the class on a topic we are discussing.

Assignment #6 - 55-65


1. Name of the Program: Museum Box

3. Purpose of the Program: To create shadow box type things that present a point of view on a particular topic.
4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: This is pretty neat. I could see this as a great way to compare and contrast a particular topic. Maybe geared more toward middle/ high school students.

3. Purpose of the Program: Post flickr photos and descriptions on a google map.
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: This was a pretty basic tool. It would be a neat way to show students where certain places are and the landmarks assiciated with them. Could be used for a virtual fieldtrip.

4. Ease of Use: good
5. Your reaction to the program: This is much like the storytelling sites we have already looked at, but you can include video and sound into your story as well.

3. Purpose of the Program: Creating digital stories using primary source documents.
4. Ease of Use: poor
5. Your reaction to the program: It was difficult for me to figure out how to get started. I went into the story board app and was unable to look at or create anything. The directions seemed easy enough, but I was unable to find the tabs they were talking about.

Assignment #8 - 77-144


1. Name of the Program: Story Cove

3. Purpose of the Program: Stories for K-3 students to listen to based on other cultures myths and fairy tales.
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: This was very easy to get registered for, it would be great for my students that are below grade level or ELL. I just wish the words were there as well so they could follow along.

3. Purpose of the Program: Type in a word and it gives you definitions, pictures, thesaurus entries, and examples to describe the word
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: This would be a great center for my students to explore their vocabulary words and then create a word cloud. It is so simple and I love that it gives pictures to show examples of the word.

3. Purpose of the Program: Take the sound out of a video and convert it to just a sound file.
4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: This looked a little confusing, but worked very slick. I liked that I could take songs from you tube, and just allow students to hear the music not see the video.

4. Ease of Use: excellent
5. Your reaction to the program: This was very easy, and could be great for my 3rd graders. They can simply find a photo on the internet and add a speech bubble of somthing this person might be saying.
